A Brief History of The 88'sThe 88's were first formed in 1982 originally working as one of the house bands at the "Coach Stop" in the old Canterbury Inn in Sarnia. As time and their following grew the band moved over to The Campbell Street Station where their blend of classic and new rock proved to be a big hit. The band's mandate was to always have a laugh and not take things too seriously. This attitude reflected well on stage and led the band to a regular rotation at "The Station", one of Ontario's best night clubs for many years. Along the way the band has played at many of southwestern Ontario's (and eastern Michigan's) big outdoor festivals and nightclubs; always striving to leave the audience with a feeling that they got their money's worth and left entertained. The 88's continue on delivering on the mandate: Play your best, have a laugh, and above all keep the audience rocking.
